A History Of Ragdolls

The history of rag doll cats is very fascinating. Myth and controversies surrounds the stories related to the origin of ragdoll cats. Some of the stories have some factual content, whereas there are others which are jus figment of imagination. 

The ragdoll cat breed is said to have started in California in the early 1960s, a woman named Ann Baker is said to have founded this breed of cat. The very first cat of the ragdoll breed was named Josephine. Ann baker noticed a particular characteristic about Josephine and her offspring. When held these cats would become limp like a rag doll. This is the reason they wee given this name, Ann Baker in fact patented the name rag doll and ay one who bred ragdoll cats needed to pay royalty for the use of the name.  

Because of the unusual characteristics of the cat, Ann Baker started breeding them. There are fascinating stories that are linked with Ann Baker and her rag doll cats. In one of her claims, Ann Baker is said to have claimed that Josephine her cat was once run over by a car. It is reportedly said that she had taken the cat to the university to get patched, here she asked the doctors to give her new DNA and this is how the rag dolls came into being. 

There was also another claim, that the cats felt no pain whatsoever. The reason why this claim came in to being was because as said earlier it was said tat these cats were genetically altered. It has also been told that these are alien hybrids! If we believe this to be true, then we have tough competition to give to the x-files! Here we are claiming that we had alien hybrid cats since 1960s! 

It is further said that the ragdoll cats are the perfect cats for people who have cat allergies. It is also said that these case are no scared of anything and being alien hybrids, they do not have the normal cat instincts. 

When it comes to the origin of ragdoll cats the stories are more fiction than fact.
