Practice Makes Players Perfect:
It’s an old saying that practice makes you perfect in any field and volley ball is no exception.
But it’s a good exercise that separates particular skill or more than one skill keeps the player’s fitness, freshness and interest in a game played. So, here are some of the volleyball practice exercises which can be of help to keep your awareness in the game. It is necessary to fully understand every part of these exercises and also to start at a slow speed and after that you can slowly increase the speed.
Advantages:
• It will help players to keep away from unnecessary injuries.
• It will also be useful for players to strengthen the right mindsets before jumping into the cultured skills.
Here Are Some Good Exercises:
1. Three Pile lift up:
A ‘Three Pile’ is one of the well known and simplest volleyball practice exercise. It is a good exercise to begin with, because it includes many skills. It is very useful in building communication and also teamwork, which are very important in games like volley ball.
How to Begin?
To begin this exercise, have 3 teammates lay down on one court in the pile on top of each other. With a sound of the whistle, throw a ball lofty into the air. At the same moment, the players must stand up in time to get that first hit. The player nearby the ball then gets it and plays it.
One can make this game tougher. To do that, have 2 piles of 3 teammates on both side of the court and toss the ball to every group. If a group hits the ball out or misses it, than that player is out of the game. If a team hits a ball 3 times and is successful in passing it over the net to other team, then the opposite team hits the ball back to the coach and goes down to the floor in a pile. Point would be awarded to the team that achieves this first, and one can continue the play until the fixed score is made.
2. 4 – on – 4 Free for All:
This volley ball workout is not only a good exercise, but it is also useful for the back row players to think smartly. For this exercise, divide the players into the team of 4 players and set the players in a manner that it generates diamond shape. The arrangement should be like this- one player as a front row setter in the first row in the center, two players in the second row as outside hitters, and one back row player in the last row.
This exercise is almost same as the regular game. The difference is that the outside players rotate the ball to ten-foot line to double block it. This is useful for back row players to read opposing hitters, and also in developing kamikaze defensive technique, that makes your back row teammate dive for every ball so it is useful to eliminate lazy mindset, if some player is having it.
