Dreamweaver is a tool introduced by Macromedia. It is a complete package tool which delivers its customers a complete solution to whatever they have known or heard about that tool. Hence, it is also known as a WYSIWYG tool, i.e. what you see is what you get tool. It is a powerful application and is increasingly getting adopted in the corporate scenario.

It is a tool which helps both the novices and amateurs as well the professionals in this field. It helps them to create user friendly and content rich page which can help them attract more and more traffic towards their web site and thus improve their ranking on the search engine’s list.

Dreamweaver uses a set of complex tools in such a way that it becomes easy for a user to use this software. It enables user to build a standard template and then apply the same template to a set of web pages.

Similarly they can also customize their template to use other specific features and points.

Dreamweaver is an easy to use tool in the sense that it requires little less coding as compared to the HTML document. They normally have a little less trash generated while coding. Hence they can be perfectly used with software and applications like Mozilla FireFox, MS Explore, Opera and Netscape. They also perform significantly well with other macromedia application and products. It can also work quite well with SSI files and other functions involving server side technologies.

Benefits:
Dreamweaver as a tool can be used to make a lot of money. Online marketing and sales are increasingly canalizing revenues for a company. With the use of World Wide Web, a company is now able to reach many more people and make a lot of money than compared to ever.

However, to make money through World Wide Web, a consistent website is a must and it has to be designed. Dreamweaver helps to make such a consistent web page. It gives you a template through which you can make consistent web pages and thus address the masses.

These templates help you to get rid of tedious job and applications of making each and every page. Template once created can be applied to all of your web pages.

Alterations or changes once required can be made to the template and then can be applied to all the pages.

Challenges:
•    It is a little complex to use for beginners
•    ASP codes do not work greatly with Dreamweaver
•    Style attribute can not be used twice in Dreamweaver. It can ruin the template and the designed web page.

However, Macromedia has constantly been trying to upgrade this template of theirs. It recently released Studio 8 which is a further powerful software tool that is specifically based upon the feedback of current users.

Studio provides powerful integration to various applications and switching over to Macromedia Flash is easier.
