The surfers are given about 24 hours to get ready and to look each other in a bodily and psychologically challenging race. It happens very rarely that the invited competitors refuse the call. A team of the umpires is appointed to judge the performance of every surfer individually and they are offered a score out of ten. Generally, surfers are marked according to the dimension of the waves they surf and the excellence of their maneuvers in the journey.
