Vocational Training Is A Must

Formal education not only creates a solid base, it is also, to a large extent, is responsible for the social adaptability of a person. Apart from all the benefits that the conventional education has, it can be safely said that this education primarily provides us with theoretical knowledge and learning that, many times, is not enough for us to get a job and earn a livelihood with. As a result of this many students find the formal schooling system useless as it does not provide them with any benefits in the long run.

Vocational education is regarded by many as the only hope for survival in today’s competitive corporate environment. Commonly known as career and technical education (CTE), this useful training enables a student to earn knowledge that not only makes him capable of having a practical know-how of things, but also endows him with the ability of becoming self dependent. Traditionally, regarded to be connected with students that come from a financially disadvantaged background or for people who are not interested in theoretical knowledge, vocational education provides a vibrant path to a successful career.

Until recently, Vocational education was only linked with specific lower income trades like automobile repair, electronics consumer goods fixing outlets and handicrafts. Although the cost of this education is relatively cheap today, this picture has changed completely, now, options in vocational education consists of computer sciences, engineering, material science, polytechnic and automobile engineering also.

Vocational education proves to be a great asset for people who are physically disabled or handicapped and are otherwise left alone from the society just because of their inability to function in a proper way. Due their inability to earn an efficient livelihood physically challenged people often lead a financially unsecured life; Vocational education makes life easier for such people with limited financial resources.

Though education is important for the overall development of the personality of a person, it is not sufficient for bringing you a source of income which is necessary for your survival. Vocational education prepares you for a career based on manual or practical skills that would surely inculcate certain special skills in you that would assist you in long run. To earn a good amount of income one must have some special skills or knowledge that he or she can utilize or practice to serve a business, a company or an organization. Hence, it can be said that vocational education must be made a compulsion for the children belonging to low income families.

There have been attempts by the government to make vocational education a part of the curriculum and such initiatives are effectively run in many counties. With  vocational training as a part of schooling all those parents who have discouraged their children from going to schools would change their outlook towards things. They would start seeing schooling a good option for their children as it would secure their future and enable them to earn their living. Vocational educational plans often attract a large number of students to enroll themselves in the schooling system.
