Taking test of English as foreign language is much important in order to get admission in American universities for non- native English speakers from all around the world.  Every year more and more students are opting to take TOEFL so that they get access to America. This booklet full of necessary information provides every detail of what you should do in order to prepare, apply as well as take the test. Nowadays the paper and pen method of taking test has become primitive. Rather, more computer based medium for test taking is under operation. However, using personal computer for such purpose is not allowed but you have to go to secured test centers where you will be given a computer as medium to take the test. Thus, it is even better if you practice your typing everyday so that time is not wasted in the process.

One thing which is very interesting is that the computer can assess the kind of ability you possess while taking the test. If you are doing considerably well, the computer gives you even harder questions to solve and the marks given are higher than those allocate for simpler questions. It is much better to be prepared for hard questions as you can score considerably good marks in the given time.

Basically there are four sections which are to be completed in order to fulfill the mandatory test. These are listening, structure, reading and writing. The time span is four hours and you should make sure that no time is wasted as every single minute holds another set of marks. The registration for TOEFL can be done by directly going to the center or even by phone and fax. The registration process is very easy and you can also use your credit card for payment or pay cash. The registration however can even be done few days before the given time limit but it is much better if you register for it way before as the earlier you register, the chance to be called for the test becomes much faster as well. There are many times when the center is so busy that you can only get your test date months after you have registered.

Do not forget to take your identification card or else you will not be allowed inside. During the test, make sure that you have understood the basic format of the test and if there is any problem during the test, all you have to do is ask the person at the center. Taking TOEFL is a very easy task and with thorough preparation, you can achieve very good outcome and work toward the fulfillment of your goal to study abroad.
