Apply Makeup And Become A Clown

You must understand that being a clown is quite a serious business. Just try to act the jester in your kid’s birthday party and you’ll see for yourself. And one the most important things about being a clown is the make-up.

All of us have a fair idea about the clown’s face and how it should appear. We have all seen the endearing face of the ever-smiling clown. Although it appears to be a very basic and easy look, there is a trick or two involved if you want to get the perfect clown face.

So let’s begin with the paint. In order to look convincing as a clown, you need to have the right kind of paint. For the best effect, go with the oil paint. You can get hold of it in any theatre make-up shop.

The best thing about oil paint is that it stays for a longer time and it does not get streaked like normal poster paint. Although you can let your imagination run wild and wacky, we will talk about the most popular look. Most clowns choose to paint their face white as a base. Then comes the endearing clown smile which is classically painted in red. For the eye, blue, black and yellow are the usual fare.

Some other useful things that you will need are brushes for applying the make-up, powder and Q-tips.

The first step is to clean up your face very well so that there is no dust or dirt to interfere with the make-up. Try to tie up your hair when you put the make-up because if, by chance, your hair gets wet with paint, you will have a hell lot to handle.

When applying the white paint, cover every part of your face. The white paint serves as the base and it does not matter if you want to put on more colors on top. The white paint is the base and you can easily put the other colors on top of it.

Since the clown face is all about looking funny, you have to be very careful with each and every line. It will be great if you make a rough sketch on paper and then try it out on your face. Once you have made the sketch, draw on your face with the help of the brushes. If there are any fine lines to make, use the Q-tip.

After you have completed your clown make-up, just put a coat of powder. This will act as a special layer that will keep your clown look secure longer! So go ahead, be the jest and spread some joy!
