The “kitty condo” cage is especially designed for ferrets and it keeps them safe when their owner is not at home. There should be a ferret-proofed area in your home and the cage of your ferret should be kept in that area when you are out of home. If outdoor temperature is hotter than required, your ferret should be kept indoors in a temperature-controlled atmosphere. You should avoid housing your ferret in a glass fish aquarium, as there is a lack of air circulation in it. If you select a cage with coated wire, beware of your ferret to ensure that he or she is not chewing the coating of the wire. It can lead your ferret to a poisoning or gastrointestinal blockage.
Your ferret will require soft places to relax and hide. It is suggestible to provide it a dark place to hide in, as it is good for your ferret’s mental health. You can also cover the exterior of the top of the cage with a blanket or sheet in order to make it dark. Wire mesh or wire grating of the cage can injure your ferret, so it should not be walking on wire grating.
