While thinking of a garden, I am sure you also think of a bird house that is built at a height and attracts thousands of birds towards your garden. Normally people interested in gardening and those who love birds all over the place, design different attractive bird houses to put up in their garden. This helps them build up their bird watching experience. Humming bird is specifically terrific to watch. These are the birds that normally belong to South America.

Being the smallest and most energetic bird on earth, they require a lot of nectar syrup for energy. All these characteristics of theirs make them the most wanted bird on earth.

People have been using different techniques and styles for attracting humming birds to their gardens. To watch these birds for long, you need to build up a place that can keep these birds attracted towards them for long.

Hence a delightful and colorful place is a must. You can begin by having a humming bird house, a house specifically built as per the likes and dislikes of a hummingbird. 

Setting up hummingbird houses:
One need not require put up a lot of effort for setting up a humming bird house. Simple house built may be by an individual can also suffice. Being small birds they do not require a lot of space.

Hence you can make a house out of small piece of wood or small boxes or tins. 

Whenever you put up a humming bird house, you also need to ensure the safety and security of that house. Hence you have to take precautions so that other big birds do not end up crashing your small house for hummingbird.

To avoid this,, you should make the door opening only big enough for a humming bird to enter and not for any other bird. You should also place the house in such a manner that they are away from the danger of cats or dogs and other  animals as well.

Once the house is ready it can be put up near a tree or on a tree near the trunk. Since these are quite small, they are normally not visible after they are put up in place.

These houses can also be put up somewhere in your backyard, near the roof, or near the tall plants etc. .. Just make sure that the hummingbird houses are out of reach of cats and other house pets on the ground.

The best place for any humming bird house is near flowering plants. This is because humming birds are most attracted towards red flowers and other nectar giving flowers. Hence planting of trumpet vine and honeysuckle in your garden can help.
