Orthodontic Treatment
A beautiful smile can make anyone’s day. Mankind has had an obsession for a perfect set of white, well formed teeth for ages. A deformed, unhealthy set of yellow teeth would look bad on any smile. Many times, a set of deformed teeth could have disastrous results like low self esteem and low self confidence. Tooth deformations are mainly a result of accidents, calcium deficiency or improper oral care.
Modern day oral healthcare has made it possible for anyone to get a set of beautiful, well formed teeth. People with flawed or crooked teeth can now have a perfect smile and sport a healthy oral care using provisional treatments available with the orthodontist. Weather you have gaps, crooked teeth, or imperfect teeth, an orthodontist recommends the needed treatment by looking at the condition of a tooth and asserting the use of a temporary or permanent treatment needed.
Temporary orthodontic treatments like the use of braces is very popular for solving dental problems like skewed teeth, uneven upper or lower jaws and treatment of temporomandibular joint conditions (TMJ). Due to various reasons like calcium deficiency and improper diet, many people are not able to develop a healthy set of teeth while growing. With braces, the teeth can be aligned back to their proper positions to get an enhanced smile.
Today, a wide range of materials are available for making braces, modern engineering has enabled the current generation to take the benefit of advanced orthodontic techniques with more efficiency and less pain.
While standard metallic braces are available in the market for long time, ceramic braces are comparatively new and more user friendly then metal wires and brackets. A new rage in braces is the use of clear braces, these custom designed braces are almost invisible and could be used without having anyone else to know about the braces. Known largely by the name Invisalign, clear braces have become very popular with children and adults who are not comfortable in sporting metal or ceramic braces.
A new set of braces called the 6 month braces have reached the market. These braces promise to reduce the time needed to wear braces. Commonly, a patient has to wear braces for a period of two to four years, these braces reduce that uncomfortable and painful period to a mere 6 months. Although these braces have received a lot of skepticism and denial, orthodontists have defended the 6 month braces stating the use of latest techniques and ground breaking technology which is used for quick but safe alignment of teeth.
Nickel Titanium wires are used to make 6 month braces. People who are worrying about the public display of metallic wires in their mouth have no need to worry because these 6 month braces come with brackets which are made to resemble teeth color. These brackets hide the 6 month braces with camouflage. Even though 6 month braces are not recommended for comprehensive orthodontic treatments, these modern day marvels can still be used to get a perfect smile within months.
