* Beware, while buying a guinea pig from a pet store, check properly that the guinea pigs are not improperly breed, ill or pregnant.

* Guinea pigs are very cute and have a fluffy fur which could take many a hearts away. After finding a cute looking guinea pig you are advised to get a feel by asking the store owner or the person in charge to take the guinea pig in hand. While in your hand, examine the guinea pig for any visible signs of bad care, a well groomed guinea pig should have wide eyes and a clean bottom and a soft and glossy fur.
* A pet loves his owner for whatever the owner; a pet’s love is boundless, same way a pet deserves to be loved back by the owner. Likewise, with a guinea pig, you should go for a guinea pig who feels as if it would be loved for years to come. Do not go for the one which is cheaper and matches your décor.

* Lastly, Preparing for a guinea pig is also important. Prepare a wired cage as a shelter, bedding for making him comfortable, water bottle and a pet dish for feeding
