Spain makes for a spectacular spot for those who wish to travel in a budget and presents a beautiful scenic destination to explore and offers perhaps the most passionate culture of all to greet. It is must visit for those who love the sun and wish to enjoy a lifetime of memories full of youthful jovial fun. Here are a few ways to cut cost while making most of the journey at the same time:
1. Travel
Book your flights in advance, and you often can easily get a good deal if you do it months before you make the trip. One of the best ways to cut costs would to be travel by budget airlines that work within the UK, Ireland and Germany. Try and avoid traveling by trains as it much more cheaply to travel by a bus instead, or if you can try car sharing instead which makes for the cheapest option of all. Upon reaching Spain, you can always give your youth, energy and stamina a test by hitchhiking throughout. You can always take the metro which are known for their simplistic charges and easy to read maps.
2. Accommodation
The cheapest solutions are Youth Hostels and Home Exchange plans. In the case of youth hostel, not only the cheap rates make it tempting but it also gives you a lot of comforts and the option of meeting new people and other backpackers. Another option is couch surfing where you can come in contact with people who would lend you their couches for the duration of the stay and would be quite happy to guide you.
3. Food
Via traditions of the Spanish, meals are generally this: having a small breakfast and hefty meal for lunch. This is a good way to cut costs as it lunch is far cheaper in Spain than any other meal. However, if you are not quite used to it, try the cafes and take a pastry or toast with your coffee which give you enough energy to get through the day.
In Granada, there are many places called Tapas where you can get meals which can innclude a small drink and something to eat which could range from paella, sandwiches to even burgers and fries. Add a nice dessert and a couple of beers, and eat, drink and be merry.
4. Discount Cards
Getting a discount cards would help you get cheap o just about every museum in town though it might cost a bit of money. This would be good for those who plan to make the most of the day, though for those who are not much of planners, they can always ask around and catch the museums on the days they have free entry. Take the discount card only if you plan to move around from one tourist spot to another and cover as many as you can in a day.
Rail passes may not be of much value in Spain as you might plan to make most of the buses and metro, however it can be quite beneficial if you plan to travel in several countries
