* Once the ferret becomes familiar with the preferred location of littering, then you can let loose your pet and give him/her more freedom.
* More than one litter box is necessary, if your ferret can access a larger area. You might come across some weird accidents but cleaning them up is not so difficult.
* Apart from socializing and litter box training you can also teach some tricks to your ferrets. You can train them to respond to their own names when somebody calls them.
* Training the domestic ferrets to ride on the shoulders can be enjoyed by both the ferret and you also. You can also teach them other things like turning around, rolling over and jumping when they are given the commands.
* Ferrets respond quickly to sounds and noises. Buy toys that makes noises like tough squeaky toys, jingle bells or other toys which when thrown will make a noise.
* You can then keep a watch on the sound that your ferrets respond to and then use this trick to locate your adorable pet when he/she gets lost.
* You can also train the domestic ferret some dance steps like making them stand up on the hind legs. Normally, you will notice your ferret doing this when she would want a treat from you.
* You can also use some repetitive phrases like “bedroom” which means sleeping time, “come on troops” which means follow me , “eat some chow” which means food time etc in our normal language so that they start paying attention to the orders.
