Barcelona was Spain’s best kept secret. As home to the 1992 Olympics suddenly the world wanted to visit. Barcelona has some of Spain’s richest cultural aspects and history. This combined with the welcoming spirit of the people make Barcelona one of Spain’s most desirable cities.
Those who visit Barcelona Spain will not be let down. There is so much to do and see in this gorgeous city of northern Spain. One of the most famous tourist attractions is the Sagrada Familia cathedral designed by none other than Antonio Guadi. The Cathedral was to represent the life of Christ and those around him. The Eighteen towers represented the 12 apostles and 4 Evangelists. The rest of the Cathedral is dedicated to the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus. Guadi died before he finished the Cathedral. Construction was delayed further by the Spanish civil war. However, it now stands proud over the city making it one of Barcelona’s most visited attractions.
If you’re not into cathedrals and history then perhaps a visit to the Barcelona FC museum is more your cup of tea. If you’re lucky you may even get tickets to one of Barcelona’s games. There is also the Picasso Museum and a large choice of restaurants and clubs to loose yourself in. The Salvador Dali Museum is also worth a look.
Spain is one of the most visited countries in the world. It has something to offer everyone, even the fussiest of tourist. The city of Barcelona does not let Spain down.
