Golf Drivers: What The Different Faces Can Do
There are many different reasons that there are so many different drivers that you can choose from for your game. One of the many aspects that affect your game is the face of the club. The face of the club will determine the amount of loft that you will be able to get on the ball off of your tee shot with the driver. Depending on the angle of the driver will determine the lift and how high in the air essentially that the ball will go on the drive. Of course the lift that you want will depend on the length of the hole as well as the traps and terrain that are surrounding the hole.
The lower the number is for the angle of your driver the lower to the ground your shot will be in essence. This could be a good thing or a bad thing depending upon your goal. If it is a windy day, you will probably want a driver that is of a lower angle in order to keep the ball out of the wind and maintain a straighter shot in your long game. The wind is ju7st one of the many factors that you need to take into consideration when you are looking into what will be the right driver to use. You also need to look at whether or net you are starting from a high point or of the pin is at a high point. If the pin is higher you will want a club face that will give you more loft on your shot as it will aid in getting the ball to the higher area. Just the opposite is true if you are higher than the pin as you will be able to get more distance out of a shot that is lower to the ground since it will not have to climb as well as go forward to achieve maximum distance.
So all in all consider the terrain, the weather and all other intangibles when you are looking at which type of driver face to use. Consider all aspects of the course and the terrain in which you are playing so you can choose correctly. It could mean the difference in a hole in one and a triple bogey.
