There are a plethora of places in which you can buy your driver from.  This varies from buying your club online, to finding one at a second hand store or even buying one from an actual golf shop.  There are benefits and drawbacks to buying from all of these places.  Each one has its own way of providing you with the information that you need to help you in making your decision.

Online

This may be the best place to purchase a new driver as far as pricing is concerned.  There are so many outlets and offers that are available through the internet that the market is flooded with many different styles and choices.  In essence this is the ultimate market from which to acquire your new driver.  However there is one major drawback.  You will not be able to touch, hold or try your product in many cases before you actually purchase it.  You could find the perfect driver; it is of the right length, has the right weight, contains the proper angle to the club face, but the grip is all wrong.  This is just a possibility of what could happen.

Department Store

Here you will also receive very good pricing, but there is a reason for this.  The reason is that they have a very limited selection from which to choose from.  They also do not have a place in store that you would be able to try or swing the club in most cases.

Second Hand

Yes, you could receive your clubs at a discount or second hand store.  However there is a reason that these clubs are probably here in the first place.  You could find a diamond d in the rough that is true.  In most cases though these clubs were shipped here or given to this place based on their inferior quality.

Golf Shop

This is probably your best option as far as being able to find the club that you want and get truly comfortable with it.  In most cases these places will have there own driving range or a practice net set up for you to try the club in.  They do however have a major disadvantage when it comes to one thing and that is in price.  In most cases these places will provide you with all of the help that you need in determining which club will work best for your long game.
