Wrestling is one such game that is liked by many people. This is the reason because of which it has been played and watched in all parts of the world. In late 19th century due to its popularity, some people associated it with theatre and this gave rise to what we today know as professional wrestling. Later the professional wrestling hall of fame was formed as a tribute to both professional wrestling as well the professional wrestlers.

Professional wrestling hall of fame is a storehouse or library of all the information about professional wrestlers and wrestling.  It has records, artifacts, memorabilia, photos, videos, etc, related to them. It has collected all this right from the time it was established.

It has acquired all this from the official professional wrestling companies, professional wrestlers as well as the fans of professional wrestling. Its collection is so large that it covers almost everything related to professional wrestling in the country,  no doubt, its collection is the largest in the whole world.

However, collecting and storing data about professional wrestling is not the only aim of Professional wrestling hall of fame.  It also conducts several events like for example; it gives awards and tokens to professional wrestlers. Two of these awards are as follows.
* The Senator Hugh Farley Award:  It is given the professional wrestlers who have been involved in some social cause.
* PWHF New York State Award: On the other hand, the later one is presented to the professional wrestler, who has made significant contribution to the field of professional wrestling. For this award, the wrestlers are judged according to popularity, the time for which he has been involved in professional wrestling, etc

As mentioned earlier Professional wrestling hall of fame, does not get aid from the government and it is not a profit making organization as well. There are two major sources from where it gets all the money
* From viewers: It gets money from visitors who visit this hall of fame to view its large collection. A large number of people visit the Professional wrestling hall of fame every year.
* Funds: Besides viewers, it also depends upon funds, which are given by fans, wrestlers, and the professional wrestling event organizers.

The Professional wrestling hall of fame uses this money and funds for all its activities like collecting information and data about wrestlers giving prizes and awards to them, etc
